An experienced Graphic Designer from the prestigious National Institute of Design, India. Simin felt that traditional methods of printing and mass producing scarves couldn’t add the uniqueness and character that people deserve to wear. She wanted to create an individual scarf, when worn makes you feel unique and special.
The solution was to take inspiration from the ancient art form of silk painting and paint her unique creations directly on the silk canvas, only this time to be worn instead of hung in a museum.
And because silk is light and cool in summer and warm in winter, our scarves can be worn year round.
Designed and hand painted in Brisbane, each scarf highlights the beauty of handcrafted artworks.
For the Love of Silk
A Graphic Designer turned Textile Artist, you will find that some of my work has influences from graphics, geometry, typography and calligraphy.
I’m inspired by my surroundings, from nature to tribal art forms and from famous painters to my vivid imagination.
The scarves may have some colour bleeds and some imperfections, giving its original handcrafted look. Each scarf is unique and designs cannot be mass produced or repeated.
We hope you wear them with the same love it was created with.
